San Miguel de Salinas is a very popular Spanish town just 7 km from the beaches of Orihuela Costa and surrounded by beautiful countryside which includes citrus and almond groves and the national park of Sierra Escalona right on our doorstep. You can walk and cycle for miles along the canal which runs right next to the town. There´s a great variety of bars and restaurants, both Spanish and international (almost 30 in the town centre alone, which means the annual tapas run event is very popular!!). If you´re looking for a holiday destination or a place to live all year round, San Miguel is a great choice as it has all amenities (primary and secondary schools with excellent reputations, banks, health centre which never closes, 3 pharmacies, large outdoor swimming pool, football and athletics stadium, 5-a-side football pitch, tennis courts, padel courts, basketball courts, petanca, crown green bowls etc) and a healthy mix of Spanish and foreign neighbours. The pace of life is gentle and relaxing, and prices in the bars tend to be more reasonable than the coast (a glass of good red wine from the barrel will set you back just 50 centimos in some of the bars). The weekly Wednesday street market is a great opportunity to stock up on locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables, hams, cheeses, olives, clothes and shoes etc, before having a drink and tapas in one of our friendly tavernas! There is a good local taxi service and buses run several times daily to Torrevieja, Orihuela and Murcia. Alicante airport is approx 40 mins drive and Murcia approx 20 mins drive. San Miguel is a place where you can enjoy a taste of traditional Spanish life and culture, without foregoing the benefits of top-class facilities and amenities. It´s a friendly place too, which we think you´ll love!

San Miguel de Salinas es un pueblo muy popular a tan sólo 7 km de las playas de Orihuela Costa y rodeado de campo ¿Qué incluye cítricos y almendros y el Parque Nacional de Sierra Escalona justo en nuestra puerta. Se puede caminar y el ciclo de millas a lo largo del canal que se extiende justo al lado de la ciudad. Hay una gran variedad de bares y restaurantes, tanto nacionales como internacionales (casi 30 en el centro de la ciudad solo, lo que significa que el evento Tapas anuales de gestión es muy popular !!). Si usted está buscando un destino de vacaciones o un lugar para vivir durante todo el año, San Miguel es una gran opción ya que tiene todas las comodidades (escuelas primarias y secundarias con un reconocido prestigio, bancos, centro de salud, que nunca cierra, tres farmacias, grandes piscina al aire libre, el fútbol y el estadio de atletismo, campo de fútbol-sala 5, pistas de tenis, pistas de paddle, canchas de baloncesto, petanca, corona cuencos verdes, etc.) y una mezcla saludable de los vecinos españoles y extranjeros. El ritmo de vida es suave y relajante, y los precios en los bares tienden a ser más razonable que la costa (un vaso de buen vino tinto de la barrica le costará sólo 50 céntimos en algunos de los bares). El mercado semanal los miércoles es una gran oportunidad para abastecerse de frutas cultivadas localmente y verduras frescas, jamones, quesos, aceitunas, ropa y zapatos, etc., antes de tomar una copa y unas tapas en uno de nuestros tabernas amigables! Hay un buen servicio de taxi local y los autobuses pasan varias veces al día a Torrevieja, Orihuela y Murcia. El aeropuerto de Alicante está a unos 40 minutos en coche y Murcia aprox 20 minutos en coche. San Miguel es un lugar donde se puede disfrutar del sabor de la vida española tradicional y la cultura, sin renunciar a las ventajas de las mejores instalaciones y servicios. Es un lugar agradable también, que creemos que te encantará!
