This Los Pinos ground-floor studio apartment is in excellent condition and ready to move into!  With a covered terrace and outdoor seating area adjacent (accessible both via the covered terrace or by the side entrance), there is a surprising amount of space to enjoy both indoors and outdoors for a studio apartment!  The elevated position of the west-facing decked terrace with respect to the rest of the development gives it great views and you can see the hills of Orihuela to the north.

The shower room (with window) has recently been modernised to a high standard, and the kitchen area has new door panels for an eye-catching, modern and bright look!  The colour theme throughout is a soothing Mediterranean blue, and you won´t be disappointed with the standard of the furniture and white goods. The entrance area and the lounge are separated by a glass block divider, which is a clever design feature that makes the lounge so much cosier!

This part of the urbanization is pedestrianised, and the unique hexagonal shape of these apartments means that you can enjoy an area outside the apartment covering about 180 degrees (east, south and west!) 

 There is plenty of parking on the urbanization.  Pimiento´s Restaurant can be found at the far side of the car park, where you can enjoy fine dining at reasonable prices or just a couple of drinks on their terrace with amazing views.  Sunday lunch is a favourite of ours here.  It is open in the busier months and offers occasional live entertainment and events such as wine-tasting evenings and afternoon teas.

Located just 2.5 km (30 minutes walk or a 3 minute drive) to the church square (and all the other amenities) in San Miguel de Salinas, in a very tranquil position between the Mirador de San Miguel and Ciudad de las Comunicaciones urbanizations. The Campoamor road is easily accessible and takes you on a beautiful country drive through citrus groves and past the golf courses of Las Colinas and Campoamor to the beach resort of Mil Palmeras, just 10km away (13 minutes in the car). Mil Palmeras is probably our favourite beach town and has some excellent restaurants, but then so does San Miguel, so it´s sometimes difficult to choose.  The local taxi service is good, so if you find yourself in San Miguel town centre for example and need a lift back, you won´t be stranded!  

The shopping and leisure centres of Orihuela Costa (La Zenia Boulevard, La Fuente, Villamartin Plaza etc) are also a very short drive away.  Across the road is a duck pond and a childrens playground, and if you want to go for a walk in the Sierra Escalona and enjoy the miles and miles of unspoilt beauty that this nature reserve has to offer, then you can do that too without having to get in your car.

San Miguel de Salinas

San Miguel de Salinas is a very popular Spanish town just 15 minutes drive from the beaches of Mil Palmeras, Campoamor, Cabo Roig, La Zenia, Torrevieja, La Mata, Guardamar etc and surrounded by beautiful countryside which includes citrus and almond groves and the national park of Sierra Escalona right on our doorstep. You can walk and cycle for miles along the canal which runs right next to the town.

There are a great variety of bars and restaurants, both Spanish and international (the annual tapas run event is very popular!). If you are looking for a holiday destination or a place to live all year round, San Miguel is a great choice as it has all amenities (excellent primary and secondary schools, banks, health centre which never closes, 3 pharmacies, large outdoor swimming pool, football and athletics stadium, 5-a-side football pitch, tennis courts, padel courts, basketball courts, petanca, crown green bowls etc) and maintains the same rhythm throughout the year (ie not too busy in the summer, and not too quiet in the winter).

The pace of life is gentle and relaxing, and prices in the bars tend to be more reasonable than the coast. The weekly Wednesday street market is a great opportunity to stock up on locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables, hams, cheeses, olives, clothes and shoes etc, before having a drink and tapas in one of our friendly tavernas!

There is a good local taxi service and buses run several times daily to Torrevieja, Orihuela and Murcia. Alicante and Murcia airport are both approx 40 mins drive away.  Internet services are generally fast (fibre-optic) and reliable.  San Miguel is a place where you can enjoy a taste of traditional Spanish life and culture, whilst being close enough to the coast to enjoy all the great things the Costa Blanca has to offer. ¡Bienvenidos a San Miguel de Salinas!
